The 2022 Met Gala returned to its in-person and regular schedule after being canceled in 2020 and delayed in 2021. The theme this year was "Gilded Glamour," drawing on a tumultuous portion of American history after the Civil War between 1870 and 1900 when a select few amassed and lost fortunes, the country experienced rapid industrialization and social change.

For the wealthy of the era, women's fashion included fur-lined coats, elbow-length gloves, and ornate gowns that exposed décolletage. Men wore top hats and tuxedos which had come to the US during the 1880s. The very first issue of Vogue magazine launched in 1892 amid the Gilded Age of American history.

The Met Gala red carpet was full of looks –– some on-theme and others maybe not so much –– and Black Twitter had some hilarious reactions. Here are 10 of Black Twitter's reactions to this year's fashions and some more shots from the red carpet.
