Sean 'Diddy' Combs is making his long-awaited return to music and joining forces with Motown Records, Variety reports.

On Tuesday (May 10), Diddy announced the launch of a new R&B label called Love Records. Per the announcement, Tuesday also marks the mogul's official music comeback — an album by Diddy himself is set to be Love Records' first project in partnership with Motown Records.

Diddy said in a statement, “Music has always been my first love, Love Records is the next chapter is about getting back to the love and making the best music of my life."

The entrepreneur continued, “For the label, I’m focused on creating timeless R&B music with the next generation of artists and producers. Motown is the perfect partner for my album and I’m excited to add to its legacy.”

Motown CEO Ethiopia Habtemariam said in a statement, “This is a major moment for Motown, as Diddy is one of this century’s most important voices in music and culture; To be a part of his next evolution and album is nothing short of monumental.”

Diddy was a staple in the 90s industry working with the likes of Mary J. Blige, the Notorious B.I.G., Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez, Boyz II Men, Britney Spears, Kanye West, and others, but he stepped away from music to focus on entrepreneurship.

The label head's newly announced Love Records "will be dedicated to R&B music and will release singles and collaborative projects from a collective of world-class artists, producers, and songwriters." Along with his latest venture, Diddy will continue to run Bad Boy Entertainment, Variety reports.
