Twitter erupted Monday evening (May 9) after leaked footage of a Broadway play showed a fully-nude Jesse Williams acting on stage.
The full-on front view footage was apparently taken by an audience member from the show Take Me Out a play by Richard Greenberg that follows the story of a gay professional baseball player who is coming out to his teammates and in the press. The show premiered Off-Broadway 20 years ago and opened at Second Stage Theater last month.
The clips surfaced on social media the same day Williams received a Tony Award nomination for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Play.
According to the theater's website, audience members are required to place their phones and other smart devices in a sealed Yondr case "out of respect and support to our actors and in order to create a phone-free space." Yondr cases can only be reopened by placing them on an unlocking tab located in the lobby.

Williams appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen Monday (May 9) and shared his thoughts on performing nude:
"Everybody around me [was] going, 'Are you serious? Are you sure? Nude, Nude? Naked, naked? Front?' Everybody makes such a big deal," the 40-year-old said. "It's a body. Once you see it, you realize [it's] whatever. It's a body!"
Here's what Twitter had to say about that body.
