"Nothing seemed off" with a Kentucky family of four before they died over the weekend in an apparent murder-suicide, a relative said.

According to People, 49-year-old mother Mary Stanton, her two daughters Andrianna Stanton, 17, and Brianna Stanton, 11, and their father Gary Stanton, 60, were found dead inside of their Louisville home on Saturday (December 3).

"The LMPD 3rd Division officers responded to a call of a shooting with multiple victims in the 4500 block of E. Pages Lane," the Louisville Police said in a statement. "When officers arrived, they located 4 victims inside the home an adult male, an adult female, and 2 juvenile females deceased from apparent gunshot wounds."

Police believe Gary Stanton shot his wife and daughters before killing himself.

"We feel pretty confident that the incident is going to be a murder-suicide situation where the adult male was the primary aggressor who shot the three females," LMPD Maj. Micah Scheu said, per WDRB.

Mary's sister, Emily Muchemi, said she talked to the mother of two often and that "nothing seemed off" leading up to the fatal incident.

"We talked and joked every day," Muchemi said.

The motive behind the killing remains unclear. According to WHAS11, Mary and Andrianna were "shot multiple times," and Brianna was shot once.

Patrick Bissig, the lead pastor at the family's church, said he wasn't close with the victims, but "from the outside looking in, it looked like your traditional happy family."
