Los Angeles Chargers defensive lineman Sebastian Joseph-Day alleged on Friday (March 24) that he was sexually assaulted by a TSA agent at John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California.

Joseph-Day, who signed with the Chargers in 2022 after spending three seasons with the Los Angeles Rams, took to Twitter to detail the incident where he was allegedly inappropriately touched by an agent as he was going through security checkpoints at the Orange County airport, per TMZ.

The former Super Bowl champion said he was "swarmed" by additional TSA workers after he asked the initial agent to stop.

"I'm all for people doing their job well," Joseph-Day tweeted on Friday. "But it was extremely unnecessary and dehumanizing. I travel a lot, for personal and work reasons. I’ve never experienced anything like that @JohnWayneAir."

When he went to file a complaint regarding the alleged assault, Joseph-Day said officials made him "jump through hoops to do so."

"I'm not sharing this on Twitter for sympathy. I'm sharing this so this group of gentleman and staff aren't allowed to do this ever again to another human being," he wrote Friday.

In a statement on Sunday (March 26), TSA said it was investigating the allegations.

"We are looking into the matter to determine if our procedures were followed and whether any corrective action needs to be taken," officials said. "TSA remains committed to treating every traveler with dignity and respect while carrying out its security screening responsibilities."
