Elon Musk Proposes New Job For Ex-CNN Anchor Don Lemon

Elon Musk is inviting Don Lemon to work for his platform after the longtime anchor exited CNN last month.

On Wednesday (May 10), Musk proposed Lemon launch a new show on Twitter.

“Have you considered doing your show on this platform? Maybe worth a try,” Musk tweeted Wednesday.

“Audience is much bigger,” he added.

The proposal comes after Lemon tweeted on April 24 that he had been fired by CNN.

"I am stunned," Lemon previously said. "After 17 years at CNN, I would have thought someone in management would have had the decency to tell me directly."

The longtime CNN anchor added in his statement that he was never "given any indication that I would not be able to continue to do the work I have loved at the network.”

CNN confirmed that it had "parted ways" with Lemon, but the network called his version of events "inaccurate."

"Don Lemon’s statement about this morning’s events is inaccurate. He was offered an opportunity to meet with management but instead released a statement on Twitter," CNN said.

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who also parted ways with his network on April 24, said Tuesday (May 9) that he would launch his own show on Twitter, citing that “there aren’t many platforms left that allow free speech.”

In response, Musk confirmed his platform was non-partisan, but noted that they had not "signed a deal of any kind whatsoever. Tucker is subject to the same rules & rewards of all content creators.”

“On this platform, unlike the one-way street of broadcast, people are able to interact, critique and refute whatever he or anyone may say,” Musk tweeted Tuesday.

“I hope that many others, particularly from the left, also choose to be content creators on this platform,” he added.
