Actor and musician LaKeith Stanfield has revealed that he and model Kasmere Trice got married and have a new baby.
Stanfield told People that he and Trice tied the knot in private after announcing their engagement in December. The pair also waited to share their baby news to "protect" the child "as long as possible."
“Being in the public eye can be something that’s amazing, but it can also be something that is very hard on you," Stanfield said. "There needs to be things that exist that are sacred and not for consumption for everybody."
“We want to be the ones to tell our story," he continued. We’re bringing our family forward so we may inspire others.”
The Get Out star and Trice first met in Canada while he was working.
“We were just feeling each other out like maybe this will be a cool friend,” Stanfield said of the first meeting. “As love does, it just smacked us out of nowhere. I’m working on my music, writing and writing, and then this person who I was seemingly writing about pops up in my life. It was strange.”
Trice, a new mom, said she appreciates the experience Stanfield has as a father to two other daughters from previous relationships.
“I’m really honored that I got to see the father in [him] before I was even having our baby,” she said.
"We've manifested this beautiful family," Stanfield added. "I want to spend the rest of my life with her."
The couple has decided to keep their baby's sex and name private.
