A Black woman says she’s sustained extensive injuries after a man threw a brick at her for not giving him her number.
In a video posted on social media by The Neighborhood Talk, the woman tearfully detailed the incident from a hospital bed.
“What have I ever to anybody in my life to deserve this,” the woman said. “I have never done anything in my life to hurt anybody. Literally, a man asked me for my number and I said no. And he picked up a brick, in front of so many men, and was like ‘what are you going to do?'”
The woman noted that the male bystanders failed to intervene in the situation. The witnesses allegedly watched a man throw a brick at her and fled the scene in a car.
“How is this okay, this is what y’all are doing to women,” the woman said in the video.
The woman appeared to sustain a large knot on her face from the brick. She said she is currently seeking treatment to lessen the swelling.
The identity and whereabouts of her attacker remain unknown.
