A murder investigation is underway after a 26-year-old Arkansas deputy was found dead on Friday, October 13. Ursula Graham, who was a Pulaski County Sheriff's Deputy living in Jacksonville, was identified on Sunday (October 15) as a victim in a murder at an apartment complex in North Little Rock, according to KATV.
The sheriff's office released a missing persons alert for Graham hours before her body was discovered Friday evening inside a vehicle at the Hemlock Courts Housing Project. Authorities said she was last seen on October 12 around 8 p.m. After she didn't show up for work, North Little Rock police responded to a Jacksonville home for a welfare check and didn't find Graham.
According to a news release, officials found "visible trauma" on the victim's body but didn't provide any details about the nature of the injuries. No word on what led to her death or a possible suspect as of Thursday (October 19).
KATV said the apartment complex where Graham's body was found has seen a disturbing string of killings dating back to November last year. Three people have been shot to death at the property before the 26-year-old's mysterious death this past week.
"The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office family is heartbroken about the tragic loss of Ursula Graham, a valued member of our Detention staff since February of this year," PCSO wrote in a statement on Facebook. "Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends, and our agency during this tragic time."
