Bronny James, son of NBA superstar LeBron James, has officially made his University of Southern California basketball debut just months after he collapsed during a workout.
On Sunday (December 10), LeBron supported his son at his first USC game fresh off the Lakers' In-Season Tournament win, Sports Illustrated reports. LeBron sat front row as the 6-foot-4 guard player clocked 16 minutes in the same gym where he suffered a cardiac arrest in July.
Following the game, LeBron took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message to Bronny.
"Can’t even tell y’all how EMOTIONAL today was for me! I’m literally drained and all I can say is @bronny you’re simply INCREDIBLE!! Damn the wins and loses that will occur. You’ve already won the ultimate goal/championship and that’s LIFE!!! Proud of you kid and today you’ve given me more life! Thank you and I love you," James wrote alongside photos and videos from Sunday's games.
During a post-game interview, Bronny expressed his gratitude for those who have supported him.
“I just want to say I’m thankful for everything. Mayo Clinic, everything they helped me with. My parents, siblings for supporting me through this hard time of my life," he said. "I just want to give appreciation to everyone that’s helped me through this."
