Marvel actress Carrie Bernans has been hospitalized after being hit by a car while celebrating New Year's Eve in New York City.
On Sunday (December 31), Bernans, who appeared in Black Panther and Avengers: Endgame, was among nine others who were injured after a car careened into a food truck, per TMZ. Bernans was reportedly out in the city celebrating New Year's Eve with a friend when they stopped at the food truck that was hit.
The incident left Bernans unconscious and pinned her underneath the food truck. Photos shared by Bernans' mother, Patricia, show her mouth bloodied, her teeth chipped, and her face with several cuts. The actress also sustained broken bones and fractures.
Police responded to the scene at around 1:40 a.m. on Monday (January 1). The incident was declared a mass causality incident, and the driver is now in custody at Bellevue Hospital.
Bernans' mother provided details on the incident on social media alongside the photos she shared of the actress' injuries.
"Please keep Carrie in your thoughts and prayers. She’s in so much pain but healing," Patricia wrote.
