NBA superstar LeBron James touched on how much time he has left in the league after tying one of his career highs during the Los Angeles Lakers game against the Brooklyn Nets.

On Sunday (March 31), James dropped 40 points in the Lakers victory against the Nets. The Lakers star tied a career-high by making nine 3-point shots during the game.

The feat brought his 3-point percentage to a career-high of 41.6 percent on a season.

Following the Lakers 116-104 win, James, 39, suggested that his 21-year career may be coming to a close soon.

"I'm not gonna play another 21 years, that's for damn sure." James said in post-game remarks. "Not very long. I don't know when that door will close as far as when I'll retire. But I don't have much time left."

Following this season, James is eligible for free agency. The Lakers star is reportedly likely to stay with the team on a three-year contract near or at his max salary. This type of contact would carry James through the 2026-2027 season.
