A car crash on the set of Eddie Murphy's upcoming movie The Pickup left eight crew members hospitalized, per PEOPLE.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, first responders took eight people to hospitals following a two-vehicle collision during filming for The Pickup on Saturday (April 20) in Atlanta.

The incident reportedly involved an armored GMC car and a BMW vehicle engaging in a stunt sequence for an action scene. Both cars flipped over and veered off the road after the crash. Two crew members were ejected from the armored car, sustaining life-threatening injuries. A third passenger also sustained serious injuries but wasn't ejected from the vehicle.

In total, five people were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital and three were taken to WellStar Cobb Medical Center for treatment.

A GoFundMe was reportedly set up for a crew member identified as Marvin Haven to raise money for his treatment.

"We are so grateful and blessed that our beloved friend is still alive, but his road to recovery will undoubtedly be long, difficult, and faced with unimaginable challenges," the GoFundMe campaign reads.

According to the Associated Press, Murphy and other cast members including Pete Davidson, Keke Palmer, Andrew Dice Clay, Eva Longoria, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Jack Kesy, and Marshawn Lynch weren't on set at the time of the collision.

Amazon MGM Studios released a statement addressing the incident, noting that "all safety precautions were reviewed prior to and monitored during the shoot.”

“On April 20, an accident occurred on the set of The Pickup during a rehearsed 2nd unit action sequence,” a spokesperson said in a statement. “Unfortunately, the sequence did not go as planned and several members of the crew were injured as a result.”
