An Atlanta mother derailed a school awards ceremony after her son didn't receive any recognition.
In a now-viral video, the mother, who remains unidentified, interrupted the school ceremony, standing up and walking to the front of the stage after her child didn't win an award.
The mother shouted at the person presenting the school awards. It's unclear what exactly was said during her rant.
A school official then apologized to the other attendees for the interruption and attempted to de-escalate the situation.
"Ladies and gentlemen I apologize for what we're seeing right now," a presenter said on the microphone as the mother continued to yell.
"I'll talk to you," the school official said, seemingly trying to calm her down. "Momma, we can look at it again."
The mother then told her son "Let's go" before the two exited the venue.
The school official again issued an apology to the crowd.
It's unclear where the incident unfolded or why the child didn't receive an award. Video of the incident garnered over 950,000 views on X, formerly Twitter.
