A six-year-old boy who had sustained critical injuries from a car crash in Georgia that killed his parents and brother has died, PEOPLE reports.
On Wednesday (May 22), Titus Mason, 6, was pronounced dead, according to a GoFundMe created for his family following Sunday's (May 19) car crash.
“Unfortunately, after extensive tests & the best of medical care, Titus was pronounced dead this morning & removed from life support. We thank you all for the outpouring of prayers, love, & support— it has been felt by the family & greatly appreciated in such a dark time,” an update on the GoFundMe page reads.
News of Titus' death came days after authorities responded to a multiple-vehicle crash on I-75 Southbound near mile marker 286. Titus' parents, Dakarai Mason, 43, and 35-year-old Erin Mason, along with one of his brothers, Brandon Crawford, 14, died at the scene. Titus and his other brother, Noah, were taken to a hospital for treatment.
"For reasons yet to be determined," the family's Kia van "left the roadway, crossed the grass median, and entered the southbound lanes of I-75," authorities said in a statement.
“The Kia van collided with a Chevy Tahoe and a Toyota 4Runner,” officials added. “Following this initial collision, the Kia van, and the Toyota 4Runner were struck by a commercial vehicle. Additionally, a Hyundai SUV struck the rear of the Chevy Tahoe.”
According to the Georgia Department of Public Safety, the driver of the Toyota 4Runner, identified as 21-year-old Aimee Odom, also died at the scene.
The GoFundMe page for Titus's family said they were heading home from a church function at the time of the crash. Noah is expected to make a full recovery, according to the fundraiser.
“Please continue to pray for us, for the other families touched by this tragedy, & for our little Noah who is going through the unimaginable loss of his entire immediate family,” the page reads. “There are just no words for this hurt.”
