A five-year-old girl was fatally shot in front of her father over Memorial Day weekend in Chicago, PEOPLE reports.

On Sunday (May 26), Reign Ware, 5, was shot and killed while sitting in a parked car next to her father, according to family.

A 24-year-old man who remains unidentified was also injured in the shooting. Reign's father was unharmed.

Raven Adams, Reign's mother, said her family was leaving a party when the shooting unfolded. Adams believes her family was “the wrong place at the wrong time.”

No arrests have been made in the shooting. According to a witness, a group of people were standing outside when they were ambushed with gunfire by another group that jumped out of a car.

Adams said she's seeking justice for her daughter's shooting.

“I just want justice for my baby,” Adams said. “The violence just has to stop. How long is this going to go on? Until everybody kills everybody? Just let people live.”

A GoFundMe campaign was launched to cover Reign's funeral expenses.

“It has broken our heart completely,” Adams wrote on the fundraiser.
