Donald Trump made an appearance at a Black barbershop in Atlanta ahead of Thursday's (June 27) debate with President Joe Biden.

On Wednesday (June 26), Trump called a Black American Business Leader roundtable at Rocky's Barbershop in Atlanta, per Newsweek.

Florida Rep. Byron Donalds (R) headed the roundtable with Trump, discussing various issues amid the former president's 2024 campaign.

At one point during the conversation, Trump, the first former president to become a convicted felon, suggested that his mugshot has sparked support in the Black community.

"The mugshot is the best ev- it just beat Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra by a lot. That's the number one mugshot of all time," Trump said. "It's really an amazing thing. Since it happened, the support among the Black community and the Hispanic community has skyrocketed. It's been very nice to see. The truth is it's really a lovely thing when I see that, we have great support now in the Black community."

In a statement, Sarafina Chitika, a Biden-Harris campaign spokesperson and Atlanta native, condemned Trump's comments, saying "nothing from Trump's mugshot...will make voters forget his racist track record."

Social media users also chimed in with their thoughts on Trump's appearance at a Black barbershop. See their reactions below.
