The 2024 Paris Olympics have kicked off, and several Black athletes from Team USA are set to compete this week.
On Friday (July 26), the 2024 Olympic opening ceremony kicked off the games in Paris, France. Star athletes LeBron James and Coco Gauff represented Team USA as flag bearers for the opening ceremony. Snoop Dogg carried the Olympic torch on a relay leg. Celine Dion also returned to the stage, performing at the Eiffel Tower while Beyoncé introduced Team USA athletes in a video broadcast during the opening ceremony.
