A missing woman in Georgia has been found dead after her mother received odd text messages, per WSBTV.

36-year-old Shameka Toran was last seen in Augusta on July 31. Before she went missing, Toran is believed to have been in a white 2004 Ford F-250 that was driven by 37-year-old Barritz Martin, her boyfriend of two months.

The Dekalb County Medical Examiner said Toran's body was discovered in a vehicle parked at a Kroger store on Sunday (August 4).

Martin is currently wanted for questioning. Toran and Martin reportedly got into an argument at her house before she disappeared.

According to reports, Toran's mother also received text messages that didn't "sound like her daughter" following her disappearance. After learning about the messages, deputies attempted to contact Martin multiple times. He eventually called the police back and asked to speak to Toran.

Deputies said they heard Martin saying "wake up" before their call disconnected.

A GoFundMe account has been created to help with funeral expenses for Toran, who was the mother of three young children.
