Black athletes are gearing up to represent Team USA at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games.
This year's Paralympic Games are set to kick off on Wednesday (August 28) and run through September 8. Roughly 4,400 athletes from around the world will compete in 549 medal events across 22 sports.
Team USA athletes will all be vying for medals in front of crowds in Paris after the 2020 Tokyo Games was held behind closed doors.

Brian Bell
Two-time Paralympian Brian Bell will be representing Team USA in wheelchair basketball. Bell, 35, previously won gold medals at the 2020 Tokyo and 2016 Rio de Janeiro games. The Birmingham, Alabama native also recently won gold with the men's wheelchair basketball team at the World Championships in 2023.
Breanna Clark
Two-time gold medalist Breanna Clark is set to compete in track & field for Team USA at the 2024 Paralympics. Clark previously took home gold medals at the Tokyo and Rio de Janeiro games in the Women's 400m T20. The 29-year-old is coming off a 9th-place win at the 2024 World Championships.
Whitney Dosty
Sitting volleyball star Whitney Dosty is set to compete at this year's Paralympic games. Dosty, 36, previously competed with the women's sitting volleyball team at the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo, where they took home the gold.
Jamal Hill
Jamal Hill is a para swimmer who will be representing Team USA for the second time at the Paralympic Games. At the 2020 Tokyo Games, Hill earned his first bronze medal in the Men's 50M Freestyle S9. The California native also placed 8th in the Men's 4 x 100m Freestyle Relay 34 Points, 9th in the 4 x 100m Medley Relay 34 Points, and 16th in the 100m Freestyle S10.
Trevon Jenifer
Wheelchair Basketball vet Trevon Jenifer will be seeking his third gold medal at the 2024 Paralympic Games. The three-time Paralympian previously won gold with the men's wheelchair basketball team at the 2020 Tokyo and 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games. Jenifer also earned a bronze medal in the sport at the 2012 London Games. The 35-year-old wheelchair basketball star also won gold at the 2023 World Championships.
Blake Leeper
34-year-old Blake Leeper is making his Paralympic comeback, representing Team USA in track and field. Leeper previously earned two medals at the 2012 London Paralympic Games in the Men's 4 x 100m Relay T42-46 and the 200m T44. The Tennessee native also placed 5th in the 100m T44 at the 2012 games. Leeper is coming off a 4th-place showing in the 400m T62 and a 7th-place in the 100m T64 at the 2024 World Championships.
Noah Malone
Three-time Paralympic medalist Noah Malone will be representing Team USA in track & field at his second games. Malone is following up his appearance at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games, where he earned a gold medal in the Mixed 4 x 100m Medley and silver medals in the Men's 100m T12 and 400m T12.
Brittni Mason
Track and Field star Brittni Mason, 26, is set to compete at this year's Paralympic Games for Team USA. Mason will look to add another medal to her collection after winning gold in the Mixed 4 x 100m Medley and silver medals in the Women's 100m T47 and 200m T47 at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games.
Nicky Nieves
Nicky Nieves is set to compete for Team USA in sitting volleyball at the 2024 Paralympic Games. This year's games will mark Nieves' second Paralympic appearance. In 2016, Nieves earned gold with the women's sitting volleyball team at the Rio de Janeiro Games. The Florida native also earned bronze in the event at the 2022 World Championships.
Roderick Townsend
Four-time Paralympic medalist Roderick Townsend will be competing in para track and field for Team USA. At the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games, Townsend took home the gold in Men's High Jump T47 and silver in Long Jump T47. This came after Townsend earned double gold in the high jump and long jump at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games. Townsend will be appearing at the 2024 Paralympics after recently winning gold in the high jump at this year's World Championships.
Lawrence Sapp
Swimmer Lawrence Sapp is set to make his second appearance at the Paralympic Games. At the 2020 Tokyo Games, Sapp placed 5th in the men's 1000m Butterfly S14, 12th in the 200m Individual Medley SM14, and 14th in the 100m Backstroke S14 - Men. The 22-year-old will be vying for his first gold medal after placing 7th in the 100m Butterfly at the 2023 World Championships.
Jaleen Roberts
Two-time Paralympic medalist Jaleen Roberts will also be vying for her first gold in track and field at the 2024 Paralympic Games. Roberts, 25, previously won silver medals in the Women's 100m T37 and the Long Jump T37 at the 2020 Tokyo Games.
Desmond Jackson
24-year-old Desmond Jackson is a Para Track and Field athlete gearing up to represent Team USA at the 2024 Games. The North Carolina native previously represented Team USA at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Paralympics, where he earned 7th in the Men's 200m T42 and 9th in the Men's Long Jump T42.
